How All 8 Teams Advanced to Omaha
The College World Series is college baseball's grandest stage, and the eight teams that have advanced to Omaha this year have all proven they belong. Here's a look at how each team earned its spot:
Texas A&M
The Aggies won the College Station Regional by defeating Louisiana, Texas State, and Stanford. They then went on to win the Lubbock Super Regional by defeating Louisiana Tech and Texas.
Oklahoma
The Sooners won the Norman Regional by defeating UConn, South Carolina, and Missouri State. They then went on to win the Stillwater Super Regional by defeating Vanderbilt and NC State.
Stanford
The Cardinal won the Stanford Regional by defeating North Carolina State, Cal Poly, and Arizona. They then went on to defeat Texas A&M in the College Station Super Regional.
Mississippi State
The Bulldogs won the Starkville Regional by defeating Louisiana-Monroe, Illinois State, and Ole Miss. They then went on to win the Hattiesburg Super Regional by defeating Southern Miss and South Carolina.
Arkansas
The Razorbacks won the Fayetteville Regional by defeating Fairfield, Oklahoma State, and North Carolina. They then went on to win the Fayetteville Super Regional by defeating TCU and Notre Dame.
Auburn
The Tigers won the Auburn Regional by defeating Southeastern Louisiana, UCLA, and Florida. They then went on to win the Gainesville Super Regional by defeating Florida State and Jacksonville.
Texas
The Longhorns won the Austin Regional by defeating Air Force, Sam Houston State, and Louisville. They then went on to lose to Texas A&M in the Lubbock Super Regional, but earned a berth in the College World Series as the eight national seed.
Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish won the Notre Dame Regional by defeating Central Michigan, Michigan, and Virginia Tech. They then went on to lose to Arkansas in the Fayetteville Super Regional, but earned a berth in the College World Series as the four national seed.
