WEB And I: Grammatical Usage
Subject Pronoun vs. Object Pronoun
In English grammar, "I" is a subject pronoun used when the speaker is performing an action. "Me" is an object pronoun used when the speaker is receiving the action of a verb.
Placement in Sentences
When listing people in a sentence, the proper order is to list the other people first, followed by "and I".
Example:
John, Mary, and I went to the store.
Usage in Sentences
In sentences where the group of people (including the speaker) is the subject, list the people first, followed by "and I".
In sentences where "someone and me" is used, "me" becomes the recipient of the action.
