At Least 11 Tornadoes Confirmed
At least 11 tornadoes touched down in parts of the Chicago area Wednesday, damaging homes and uprooting trees. The National Weather Service confirmed the tornadoes after a complex of destructive storms moved through eastern Iowa and into Illinois around 7 pm.
Tornado Risk Ended in Cook County
By 10 pm, the risk of tornadoes had ended in Cook County, which includes Chicago, the Weather Service said.
Damage Reported
At least three tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area late on Wednesday, causing damage to homes and uprooting trees.
Storm System Moving East
The National Weather Service reported that the complex of storms was moving eastward toward Indiana.
