Lewis Hamilton Hits Back At Claims He Lets Himself Go Without A Race Winning Car

Lewis Hamilton hits back at claims he 'lets himself go' without a race-winning car

Hamilton denies 'pushing flat out' claim made by ex-Mercedes engineer

Seven-time world champion insists he's 'working his butt off' despite recent struggles

Lewis Hamilton has hit back at claims from a former Mercedes F1 colleague that he lets himself go when he has no chance of winning a race.

Speaking ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, Hamilton said: "I've been working my butt off. I'm not going to let anyone tell me otherwise."

Hamilton's comments come in response to claims made by former Mercedes engineer Philipp Brändle, who said that Hamilton "doesn't push flat out unless he believes he has a chance to win the race."

Brändle's comments were echoed by another former Mercedes engineer, Aldo Costa, who said that Hamilton "has lost some of his motivation" since winning his seventh world championship in 2020.

Hamilton has denied these claims, insisting that he is still as motivated as ever to win races and championships.

"I'm not going to let anyone tell me otherwise," he said. "I'm going to keep pushing and keep fighting until I can't anymore."

Hamilton's comments suggest that he is determined to prove his critics wrong and continue to be a force to be reckoned with in Formula 1.

Only time will tell if he can do it, but one thing is for sure: Hamilton is not going to give up without a fight.
